▶︎ This abstract piece explores the idea of compartmentalization of memories, and how they are recalled and influence our present and future.
▶︎ The cubes, representing individual memories, are depicted in a variety of colors and hues, suggesting the emotional range of our experiences. Some cubes are brightly colored and appear to the forefront, representing vivid and easily recalled memories. Others are depicted in duller tones, pushed to the background, representing less accessible or forgotten memories.
▶︎ The way the squares are arranged in a seemingly random pattern reflects the way memories are often recalled – not in a linear fashion, but triggered by association and emotion. And while each cube and memory are individualized and compartmentalized, they also intersect and this juxtaposition reflects the idea that while our memories may seem scattered and unorganized, they intertwine and ultimately contribute to the structure and foundation of who we are.
