▶︎ “The Bells” is part of a series of Abstract paintings submitted for the Luxembourg Art Prize 2020, that I am now releasing as Limited Editions
▶︎ "The Bells" painting is similar in its structure to the "Goblet of Life", composed around deconstructed geometries and playing with light and shadows.
The upper part of the painting is more figurative. it aims to evoque the powerful sound of bells ringing, the exploding reverberation of the hammer hitting and sending resonating shockwaves in the rest of the painting, triggering an almost physical sensation in our bodies.
It is up to the viewer to interpret the rest of the painting and let their imagination wander - Are those Easter bells? A fecund drop of life hitting the World? An evocation of other instruments accompanying a joyous melody? Or on the contrary, are those the bells ringing the "tocsin" announing a storm coming, as some darker colors on the upper left and back of the painting may suggest.
▶︎ Mixed Media, Fine-Art print on canvas, Acrylic paint and Medium, varnished and framed. Numbered & Signed.
